Pregnancy can be hard on a Mothers’ body. Excess weight gain, stress marks and some skin issues to name a few. It is tempting to try and get back to how we were or better before we were expecting. Detox, fasting and juice diets can expedite the process but we need to be very careful when releasing toxins into our bloodstream and body. A detoxification program is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women. A fetus or newborn baby should not be exposed to the toxins eliminated from the mother’s body while cleansing. It is advisable to wait until the baby is born and you have finished breastfeeding before considering doing a detox weight loss fast.
It is also important for pregnant or nursing women to wait until the child is no longer dependant on the Mother as far as breast milk. In most cases, a women’s body will adjust quickly after pregnancy. However, if you feel sluggish and have a lack of energy you may want to consider a guided fruit and vegetable detox wellness program. Pregnant or nursing women can assist their bodies by having more green juices and leaner foods. It is important to remember that nutrition is the key to a fast recovery that will not compromise nutrients for yourself and your child.
